What Makes Cobalt Analytics Different?

(It’s not just our winning personalities)

Technology Adoption Can be a Balancing Act

There is often an uncomfortable tension between business users and the IT team who supports them. The business wants access to fast and agile technology; IT wants secure and scalable solutions. Modern workplaces and analytics can bridge the gap and satisfy what used to be competing needs. But to modernise you need the data and infrastructure to keep up. It can be overwhelming to implement and maintain.

Cobalt Analytics is South Africa’s Best at Walking the Analytics Tightrope

Cobalt Analytics was founded by three people focused on data platform performance and business analytics consulting. Based in Johannesburg, we help you democratise data across your organisation using the Microsoft Power Platform.

We’ve seen just how much impact Power BI can have for growing businesses. It’s still a new application and without careful attention to the data Power BI relies on, implementation projects can frustrate users.

“Why Cobalt?” Well, we think it’s the perfect analogy for your data. It’s often hidden, relatively useless in the raw form, difficult to control, and even poisonous if used incorrectly. However, when handled by experienced and knowledgeable practitioners, it has practical applications that make it extremely valuable.

Colloquially known as Goblin Ore, cobalt can be compared to the mischievous nature of data, and the havoc it can wreak when not controlled.

The atomic number of Cobalt (27) is also the International Dialing Code for South Africa, our home country, and one in which mining plays such a vital role. It is commonly stated that data is now the most valuable resource in the world, and South Africa has always been at the forefront of valuable resources.
